The Ghost Gurney Project to #SaveHealthcare
We interview Patricia Chartier and Sandra Hughes of the Ghost Gurney Project in Ontario. Their goal is to save public healthcare from Doug Ford. They do this by using social media to tell the stories, bust the myths and deliver the facts - in hopes that people will wake up and push back.
They share their process of gathering people's health stories and getting them seen on social media and how they've created a supportive team. We also hear what its been like travelling the Province's healthcare system and hearing so many devastating first hand accounts of how it has failed people.
A key area of focus for the small group is the privatization of healthcare, in particular the use of Bill 60 and the corporatization of the system. In the episode there are plenty of details on just how this is happening and what the implications have already been.
